Monday Jan 20
We are in to the final stretch of the course.
I did show my students their mark with the CA included today.
We spent the period prepping for the exam and getting those last few assignments owed in to the teacher for assessment.
Keep going!

I'm away again.
I will feel better, I promise.
Read this article as exam / OSSLT prep.
Answer these questions ... and I'll mark them - hand them in via email.
1. What's the point of view of the story?
2. What is the most significant conflict in the story?
3. What would YOU be willing to give up to get the best life ever?

Today was made up of a few things
We did some exam review. We read this article and chatted about both Part A of the exam and Part B of the exam. On the actual article is an example of a Part B type longer answer question that a typical English teacher would use as a writing prompt on an exam.
I'm running out of interesting articles on that link, and so I'll begin to mine my stack of exams from previous years for examples of readings. We start that tomorrow.
Another round of nagging and showing students what they needed to have handed in for the All About Me unit was also done.
I showed an example of a Task Three Writing Portfolio completed and an example of a completed Task Four Professional eMail done as well.
Finally, we watched this
That Alan Watts. What a guy.

Monday Jan 13
...and on to Monday.
One of the last Mondays in this class. It was a good one, too.
Anyway, we continued finishing off CA presentations and we also worked on finishing off the All About Me Unit. Quite a bit of this unit is owed.
In order to practise for the exam we read this article and did a similar exercise to what is on the exam.
Here is the list if you wanted to go forward and read a few as a part of your own prep for the exam.

Friday Jan 10
Today we worked a bit on one of the parts of the OSSLT that we at ND do well on - the reading section. In any case, I also had to do a limited amount of nagging in period one.
I needed to post the News Report from yesterday, too:
Onwards to Monday!

Thursday Jan 9
Sadly, we did some work today on the exam and prep for the OSSLT.
We read the article "How writing changed my life" by Darius Foroux together and we worked through an example of how the exam may ask us to write about it.
We also got a little bit of nagging done for missing assignments.

We worked on News Reports today. I'm still getting my Adobe Reader to stop giving me the beach ball, but it was working today during period one.
